TakeOnePiece LLC, doing business as Mindful Suite (“we”), controls the personal data described here. This policy covers the Amelio apps, meetamelio.com, amelio.social, and the services behind them. It brings the Amelio provisions and the generally applicable provisions of the Mindful Suite Privacy Policy together in one place. That overarching policy also applies; if the two versions differ, its terms control. For health-related information, also read our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
1. Our commitments
- We do not sell your personal data or use what you create in Amelio for advertising.
- Amelio has no ads or third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDKs.
- Check-ins and posts start private. You choose whether to share each one and with whom.
- You can delete content or your account in the app, or ask us for help by email.
2. What we collect
- Account and profile: your email address, sign-in identifiers, user ID, display name and an optional profile photo. Apple, Google or Firebase Authentication handles sign-in; we do not see your password.
- Your circle: invitations, connection requests and connections, and private names you give people.
- Your content: mood and other check-ins, journal entries, posts, photos, reactions, replies, dates, and the audience you choose for each post.
- Images you create: instructions and reference photos you choose for an image feature, plus the result. We do not create faceprints or other biometric identifiers from photos.
- Companion and safety signals: the tone of a post used to choose a private companion reaction, if that feature is on; and signals from automated screening for abuse or content suggesting risk.
- Purchases: product, transaction and subscription identifiers, dates, status, and any credit balance or history. Apple or Google processes app-store payments; we never receive a full card number.
- Device and usage: app version, operating system, language, device model, interactions, diagnostic logs, approximate location inferred from IP address, and a push token if you permit notifications.
- Communications: support messages, service-email preferences, and details you include in a request to us.
We do not knowingly collect precise device location, contacts or biometric identifiers. Only provide information about other people when you have the right to do so.
3. How sharing works
A check-in or post is private until you share it. For each post, you can choose only you, all your friends, or specific friends. A reply is visible only to its author and the post author, even when the post was shared more widely. Other members see you after you connect. People you share with may remember, screenshot or repeat what they see; we cannot recall a copy they made. Please share only what feels safe for you, and treat others’ posts as private.
4. How we use data and our legal bases
- To provide Amelio: create and secure accounts, store and show your content to your chosen audience, sync devices, process purchases, send service messages and respond to support. Where GDPR applies, this is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- For sensitive reflections: provide the feature you choose to use, based on your explicit consent. You can withdraw that consent by deleting the content or your account.
- To improve and protect the service: diagnose errors, understand feature use, prevent fraud, spam and abuse, and enforce our terms. Where GDPR applies, we rely on legitimate interests balanced against your rights.
- For legal obligations: keep required tax and transaction records and respond to valid legal requests.
- For optional marketing messages: only as permitted by law; you can unsubscribe. We do not put advertising in Amelio or use your reflections to target ads.
We do not make solely automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
5. Sensitive content, AI and safety
Moods and reflections can reveal information about health, beliefs and relationships. We use them to provide your chosen features and share them only with your selected audience and processors acting for us. If you make an image, its prompt and chosen reference photos go to the image provider. If the companion is on, your own post text is analyzed to choose a reaction visible only to you; you can turn it off in Privacy settings. Posted text may also be screened by an automated safety service to detect abuse or possible risk. We do not use this content for ads or sell it. Amelio is a reflection tool, not medical care or a crisis service.
6. Who receives data
We share data only as needed to provide the service or as described here:
- People you choose: the audience you select for each post or the person in a two-person reply.
- Google Cloud and Firebase: hosting, databases, file storage, authentication, app analytics, attestation, logging and Android push delivery.
- Apple and Google Play: sign-in, app-store purchases and platform notifications, as applicable.
- Google Gemini and Replicate: image features you choose to use; OpenAI: content-safety screening. These providers process data for us under business terms that do not permit training on your data.
- Twilio SendGrid: account and service email.
- Legal and safety recipients: when law requires, or when necessary to protect users, the public or our rights. Data may also transfer in a merger or sale subject to this policy’s protections.
We do not sell personal information. Providers process it on our instructions under contractual safeguards.
7. Website cookies and app analytics
The current meetamelio.com pages do not set advertising or analytics cookies, and do not load advertising tags. Essential hosting or security technologies may process request data such as an IP address. The iOS app includes Firebase analytics technology; the Android app uses Firebase for account services and notifications. We do not use advertising identifiers for cross-app tracking. Device privacy controls do not necessarily disable first-party analytics; contact us with questions about processing or your data rights. See the separate Cookie Policy for the website, including what would change if optional measurement is added. The separate mindfulsuite.com site has its own cookie practices in the overarching policy.
8. Retention and deletion
We keep account data and content while your account is active or as needed to provide Amelio. Deleting a post removes it from everyone’s view. Deleting your account in Settings removes your profile, content, created images, photos, connections, reactions, replies you left, and support conversation from live systems. Residual backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule. Purchase and tax records may be kept as law requires (generally up to seven years), and limited records may remain to resolve disputes, prevent fraud or comply with law. For deletion without the app, see Delete your account.
9. Security, children and international transfers
We use encryption in transit, access controls, authentication and monitoring appropriate to the risk. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data, we will notify you and regulators where required. Amelio is not directed to children under 13, or below the age of independent data-processing consent in the EEA or UK (up to 16). Contact us if a child has provided information.
We are based in the United States and providers process data mainly there. For transfers from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on applicable Standard Contractual Clauses and UK transfer terms, or an eligible provider’s Data Privacy Framework certification.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may access and receive a portable copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising or certain profiling. We do not sell data or use Amelio for targeted advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. You can edit or delete content and delete your account in the app; for other requests, email us from your account address. We may verify your request and respond within applicable deadlines (generally 30 days under GDPR and 45 days under US state laws). An authorized agent may act with proof of authorization. If we decline, you can appeal by replying to our decision, and may contact your state attorney general or EEA/UK data-protection authority.
11. Changes and contact
We will post changes here with a new date. For material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect and ask for consent where required. For privacy questions, rights requests or complaints, contact:
